Potato Chips with Hot Bbq Wings.

When you read the above heading, most probably you are wondering potato chips with chicken, how, when and where??? Yes, I had the same ideology but when I tried it, I was having an orgasmic feeling in my mouth, just tasting the flavours and how they mix up to form such a beautiful taste in my mouth was wonderful. I kid you not, I fell in love!

The thing with food is you’ll always have to experiment with new flavours or trying new combinations away from the boring, old norm. An example, Potato chips with chicken. Sounds absurd but you have to try it, orgasmic!!! I love potatoes, anything potatoes you shall find me there. 

I had no idea what I was going to have for dinner but looking inside the kitchen I found potatoes and chicken and I was bored of eating mashed, fries or just normal yadayada. As I was thinking of what to eat, I decided to make potato chips or as we say in Kenyan Slang ‘criba‘. (Criba is also known as crisps).

Ingredients for the Chicken Wings.

  1. Chicken wings, 6 pieces,
  2. A teaspoon of oil.
  3. A tablespoon of salt.
  4. Two tablespoons of honey.
  5. Three tablespoons of hot barbeque sauce.
  6. A tablespoon of Oyster Sauce.
  7. A cup of water.

Procedure.

Boil the chicken wings for 10 minutes and place aside the broth, since it shall be used later. Place the chicken in the oven to brown it on each side for 5-10 minutes. Remove the chicken and set it aside to cool. In a bowl, place the bbq sauce, salt and honey and mix it to form a consistent mixture. Place your chicken in the sauce and ensure every part of the wing is covered in the sauce.Β 

Place it on a tray and put in the oven for 10 minutes in a preheated oven of 180c. Ensure the wings are well spread out. When the sauce is dried and sticky, your chicken shall be ready.

Ingredients for the Potato Chips.

  1. 4 large potatoes, peeled.
  2. A tablespoon of salt.
  3. 1/4 cup of vinegar.
  4. A tablespoon of oil.
  5. A tablespoon of black pepper.
  6. A cup of chicken broth.

Procedure.

Cut potatoes in a thin size or you can use a grater. A grater will do the job accurately. In a pan place your chicken stock and boil the potatoes for 5 minutes maximum, remove the potatoes and In a clean dish place the cut potatoes with the spices and oil and mix it up. Cover it and let it rest for an hour or so.

On a hot sufuria, lace oil and let it be hot before placing the potatoes. After 5 minutes, drain the potatoes using a paper kitchen towel before placing inside the hot oil in the sufuria. Once you place inside the hot oil let it fry for around 5- 10 minutes depending on the heat.

It shall be ready when the potatoes start to turn brownish-yellow. Remove and set aside to cool.

Garnishing.

Place the chips on a plate then the hot bbq wings and also some salad on the side.

Serving for two!
